Dynasty Restaurant Chinese New Year Menu 2018
An amazing line-up from the festive Dim Sum selection to timeless Treasure Pots or Poon Choi, Set Menus, and Yee Sang variety is guaranteed to spoil you and your loved ones. Chinese New Year is incomplete without ‘Yee Sang’, the activity where we toss to good health and good wealth with raw ingredients that signify the renewal of life accompanied by crunchy crackers and condiments. Choose your preferred raw ingredients from their wide offerings. They are also available for takeaway in “half serving” and “full serving”.
Next up, we had Braised Five Treasure Soup with Crab Meat and Sliced Abalone. I love this because it’s such a tummy warmer and it tastes like shark fin’s soup without needing to harm the precious sharks. In fact, the sweet taste of crab meat and abalone enhanced the soup taste altogether. Crispy Almond Chicken certainly didn’t disappoint. Crispy skinned chicken is rather common, but with the addition of almond flakes on top, it gets a lot crispier! Best thing is, the chicken meat underneath remains tender and juicy. Bliss! Fish is a must-have dish during Chinese New Year as it signifies smooth sailing year ahead. Steamed Live Sea Grouper with Sliced Ginger and Chili tastes really good and tender thanks to the scallions, ginger, and chili that penetrated into the fish meat. The technique of steaming enables us to gauge how fresh the sea grouper is. Moving on next, we had Sauteed Golden Prawns with Pumpkin Cream. It’s quite unusual for pumpkin to be paired with prawns but surprisingly, they complement each other well! If you love prawns, you’ll definitely like this one. The texture of pumpkin cream is similar to salted egg yolk sauce; thick and rich. After all the protein rich dishes, let’s have some vegetarian dish to balance it out. As fatt choy represents wealth and richness, it has to be a part of the ingredients. Indulge in the classic Chinese New Year dish which consists of Sun-dried Oyster, Fatt Choy, Flower Mushroom & Vegetable. The Supreme Seafood Golden Fried Rice with X.O. Sauce came slightly spicy, to perk up your palate again after the many dishes. The fragrant and tasty fried rice is simply irresistible! Dynasty’s Fortune Pastries features nian gao prepared in both steamed and fried style so you can have the best of both worlds. The fried one is crunchy and crispy, while the steamed one is chewy with fragrant grated coconut. Ending our feast with Double Boiled Sweetened Chrysanthemum Tea with Pear, Red Date & Aloe Vera is the best thing ever because it’s so nourishing! Only girls will understand what I’m talking about 😉 It’s super good for beauty! Chef Kin has created 3 festive set menus for Chinese New Year that comes with Yee Sang and Dynasty’s fortune pastries. They are Happiness Set at RM1,788nett, Fortune Set at RM2,188nett and Longevity Set at RM3,388nett for table of ten (10) persons.
