Located at Gerik, Perak, Belum Rainforest Resort is the perfect choice for a staycation to reconnect with your loved ones and the nature. But apart from staying in the hotel room, there are actually a lot of activities that you can take part in and get closer to nature. These activities can also take your mind off work so you can recharge better.
Top 5 Activities at Belum Rainforest Resort
Visit the Aboriginal Village (Kampung Orang Asli)
Chuweh is an orang asli village that was fairly new. It was better for them as a whole to relocate to a cleaner place with better living conditions. I feel that the condition was really good and the scenery was just like heaven! I definitely wouldn’t mind staying here. You can see how they’re living their lives. They’re treating their livestock like pets while living a peaceful life.
Trekking at Tali Kail Island (Pulau Tali Kail)
For those who are adventurous and love trekking activity, you can hike up Lower Belum forest reserve to Pulau Tali Kail lookout tower. The one-hour journey certainly wasn’t easy due to the steep hill but the guides were very helpful and waited for us. There were 2 guides; one at the front and one at the back so nobody gets left behind. When we were nearly reaching the lookout tower, we had to use the string and pull ourselves up! All the sweat and tiredness were all worth it when we saw the breathtaking view of Temenggor Lake and Banding Lake from 10.8 meters above ground. We were totally mesmerized by the wonders of nature. Belum Rainforest Resort offers a few packages that include discovering Lower Belum and search for Rafflesia spot. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see fully bloomed Rafflesia! Night Trekking
Come night, we explored the flora and faunas of the jungle armed with a torchlight on our hands. Since animals are more active at night, the experience will be different from day trekking. What makes night trekking adventurous is, there’s no certainty in what you’ll encounter during night trekking. We were advised to minimize noise in order not to scare off the animals. Have you seen rattan in real life? I mean the plant, not the one you get whipped with hahaha! This is the first time I saw it. Apparently, rattan has thorny spines to climb over other plants and to protect themselves from becoming animal’s food. Remember to be careful! Isn’t this view amazing? It looks like a scene from Jungle Book! In-house guest rate: RM 40
Non-guest rate: RM 45
Take a dip in the infinity pool
No matter what time it is, the infinity pool offers a breathtaking view of Temenggor Lake. The calm lake gives you serenity from within. I had the opportunity to take a dip in the infinity pool during sunset. Everything is golden in color!
Massage @ Puteri Dewi Spa
What’s better than to have a massage session at the spa after exploring Pulau Banding for whole day? Having your tiredness being knead out has got to be the best feeling ever! We were all in awe after knowing that this beautiful place is just the reception area. There’s lots of details on their furniture. No matter it’s foot massage or full body massage, your body will thank you for that pampering session. Fun fact: They grow their own herbs so they can be freshly plucked and used during treatments. Interesting! For more information on Puteri Dewi Spa’s packages, visit https://www.belumrainforestresort.com/rejuvenate. Don’t forget to enquire at Belum Rainforest Forest when you’re there too because they have special promotions from time to time.
