Upon arriving at Furless, I was greeted warmly by Aprel, the pretty owner of Furless and she briefly explained to me about the company and their services. According to her, their principle is to make the waxing experience lesser pain compared to normal waxing.
How do they achieve this?
In order to minimize pain during waxing, they not only use one but three types of wax to suit the sensitivity of the skin and coarseness of hair being waxed. They have one for long coarse hair, one for short hair to ensure the removal of stubbles and one for sensitive skin to avoid irritation. Not to mention, having experienced and attentive therapist is very important too!
Annie, my therapist led me into a room and instructed me to cleanse my *ahem* first. For hygiene purpose, she cleansed it again to ensure that it’s completely clean and she also assured me that they will not double dip. Very often, double dipping can cause infection! Eww!! During the waxing treatment, Annie explained what type of waxed she used and why she uses that type of wax. She’s so attentive and gentle! She also asked me whether the temperature of the wax is bearable and whether I can stand the pain EVERY TIME she applied it which made me feel so cared. She also double and tripled check to make sure not a strand of hair is left! Ha!

Well, the process wasn’t totally painless. I’d be lying if I say that. But it’s bearable. There are some parts that are extra sensitive which makes it more pain but Annie guided me on how to breathe properly to minimize the pain. The best thing is, they gave me a cold treatment for free after the whole waxing process to soothe the redness and calm my skin. According to Annie, after care is very important to avoid ingrown hair. What we need to do is scrub twice a week and apply some lotion for moisture. However, we must refrain from scrubbing, swimming and taking hot shower for a week after waxing due to the skin is still raw.
Will I be back? Of course! As the photo below mentioned: Being fearless is a choice! I wouldn’t wanna make a wrong choice teehee~ Oh, and there goes my ‘virgin’ waxing experience…
