As city dwellers, a break from the hustle and bustle of the city is much appreciated. There’s a Chinese idiom that says “Rest, is for us to be able to continue on a longer journey”. As a nature lover, I’m glad to find the perfect place for a back to nature retreat and experience kampung life without breaking the bank.
Life has been great lately! Managed to visit Malacca again after 2 months and this time, I had more time discovering the historical city. 🙂
Makan Nyonya @ Estadia Hotel
One of the best discoveries was the first Peranakan Hi-Tea buffet at Makan Nyonya Resturant in my favorite Peranakan themed boutique hotel, Estadia Hotel. Makan Nyonya Restaurant is an all-day dining restaurant that offers an endless array of Peranakan cuisine and local specialities.
Nyonya Dishes Main Course (Cuttlefish Sambal Petai, Home Cooked Kapitan Fish Mackerel, Fragrant Butter Chicken, Kerabu Ikan Bilis, Nyonya Acar)
This Peranakan Hi-Tea Buffet has certainly exceeded my expectation as they serve a wide variety of Baba Nyonya cuisine. From mouth-watering Peranakan appetizers to the delectable main course and desserts, expect to get a taste of Melaka through a colourful culinary journey with family and friends.
Estadia by Hatten Hotel @ Melaka is a new 3 star luxury boutique hotel that has just opened its doors in May 2015. The interior design in Estadia by Hatten was inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Malacca’s Peranakan lifestyle.

As Melaka can be very crowded during the weekends, the location of Estadia at Melaka Raya is just perfect as it is just footsteps away from Malacca’s UNESCO World Heritage site.
