8 Awesome Brands at Markets 16 Bazaar, Jaya One

Hey dearies, did you manage to visit Markets 16 bazaar @ Jaya One 2 weeks ago? I did and guess what – I spent 5 hours there browsing around, catching up with friends for lunch and yum cha session, it’s CRAZY! There’s just so many things to see!

Happy to have met so many fellow bloggers at Markets 16. It felt like a gathering!

The first thing I hunted as soon as I reached was… FOODDDDD!! I came without breakfast since I was already running late. Hurried over to Wheeloaf food truck and ordered their Mighty Beef Panini (the same thing I ate last round).

It was sooo good! And I’m addicted to their nachos with cheese dip, I wished they gave more T_T

The first person I bumped into: Yong Choy Peng, a fellow blogger who is super friendly and extremely good in singing.

Asked Clumsy Boy to get me a cup of coffee from Coffee Mingle and he got me their best-selling drink: Mingle but it’s 90% choco, 10% coffee. I need moar coffee!!

Markets 16 Bazaar @ Jaya One

Anyways, it wasn’t easy to choose only 8 awesome brands since there are more than 100 participating vendors and each brand has their own unique qualities. Here’s the final list I came up with:

1. Cable Trouble

   

   I believe Cable Trouble is providing a clever solution for phone users since I’m facing one of these cable related issues now – broken USB cable aka cable putus! This is a very common issue especially if we use it everyday. With 30 colors of Cable Cords and 20 designs of Cable Ties to choose from, the chances of mixing up with someone else’s cable would be super low too.

   

   Best thing is, they provide FREE cable wrapping service so you don’t need to do it yourself. Refer photo above for price.

2. Scott’s Shavers

   

   “A close shave makes a man” – That’s what Scott’s Shavers believes in. After a year of researching, designing, prototyping and gathering feedback, a shaver that not only looks good but also functions well was born. The shavers are manufactured locally but doubt not about the quality as Scott’s razor blades are produced in Germany, the land known for precision products. There are a total of 4 sleek designs to choose from: Braveheart (brass handle), Thistle (copper handle), Highlander (silver handle) and Nessie (matt black handle). All designs are priced at RM 80 each except for Nessie (RM 100). 2 extra replacement cartridges are included in the set. The shaver handle was made to weigh heavier than conventional shavers (120 g) so it will glide across the skin easily, without the needing to put too much pressure during shaving and hurt yourself.

3. Verdez Olivia

   

   I’ve introduced Verdez Olivia before in my Markets 15 writeup but their stuffs are so unique I’m gonna give them a mention again! Verdez Olivia supplies urban, stylish and unique items such as pouches, passport holder, card holder, clutch, wallets, folders etc with FREE name engraving service. Their best-selling items are cork made ones!

4. Craftiviti

   

   There are many brands out there selling handmade soaps these days so it’s a bit head cracking to choose. Have you considered making it from scratch then? Yeap, you heard me right – make your own soap! Honestly, I’m really tempted to make my own soaps and probably open a business out of it. Craftiviti has a vast array of material supplies ranging from soap making, jewellery making, candle making, fabric printing, stamping, engraving and many more.

5. HelloPfft

   

   The reason why I featured HelloPfft here is because I can see that the founder has a lot of passion in what she’s doing and I really respect that! You can get lots of random handmade things from HelloPfft ranging from pouches, fold-over clutches, dreamcatchers, passport holders, handbound books and journals, sock pets and many more. They also have clutches made of real leather where they cut and sew themselves! Check them out! ^_^

6. Josh Lee Fragrances

   

   Hailed from Penang, Josh Lee is our very own local fragrance designer who aims to bring out the essence of heritage, culture and nature of Malaysia through his collection of perfumes. OUD by Josh Lee expresses the rich biodiversity of the Malaysian Rainforests with its woody oriental fragrance. Meanwhile, George Town by Josh Lee is a citrus aromatic fragrance that embodies the heritage of George Town. It took him 2 years of intensive research to come up with the perfect formulation.

7. La Musa Boutique

   

   La Musa Boutique’s fashion accessories are the epitome of sophistication with a hint of edgy style. Taglined “Little detail, Big different”, La Musa sources their accessories worldwide and brings them back to Malaysia. Some pieces were specially handmade by the co-founder herself.

8. Peep Boutique

   

   Peep Boutique is already a well-known brand for providing chic, stylish fashion items straight to your doorstep. Curated and hand picked personally, quality is assured. They recently brought in some tattoo stickers which I find is super cool!

Markets16 is truly a shopping heaven for bazaar enthusiasts. Clothes and accessories are practically everywhere! Vintage1988 had marked down the price of their tops from RM 60+ to just RM 10! What a great bargain!

This Molecule Jewelry collection also caught my interest but I forgot to take note on the booth’s name >_<

It’s never boring during shopping time as we were entertained by live music performances from budding local entertainers 🙂
