South East Asian cuisine has always been the forte of The Forum KL, Sri Hartamas. Last round, I was there to sample their exceptional Christmas menu. This month, in conjunction with Chinese New Year, the talented head chef and his team at The Forum KL has attempted to whip up some delicious traditional Chinese dishes, with a twist! Priced reasonably at RM 58 nett for 3 course, celebrating Chinese New Year with family and friends became more wallet-friendly! Aren’t you just excited to explore their creations?
The Forum KL Chinese New Year Festive Menu 2018
Set A
Fresh Salmon Yee Sang
Toss into health and prosperity this Chinese New Year with their Fresh Salmon Yee Sang. The tinge of sourness from the sauce is certainly going to perk up your appetite! or
A duo of steamed salted egg and kaya paus
Spaghetti aglio olio with grilled chicken
Indulge in this plate of yummylicious Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Albeit spicier than usual for my preference, you can actually request the level of spiciness. I’m definitely digging in to the perfectly grilled chicken – it’s still tender, juicy, and flavorful! or
Udon wok fried with Kimchi, fresh vegetables, seaweed and sesame
Don’t this bowl of Wok Fried Udon looks truly tempting? The Forum KL has given this dish a beautiful twist by combining Japanese (udon) and Korean ingredients together (Kimchi) and they complement each other really well! This main course also comes with crispy assorted tempura.
Dessert
For dessert, a slice of cake of the day will surely tantalize your taste buds. I love the chocolate mousse so much because it’s so smooth, creamy, and full of chocolatey taste!
Set B
Steamed chicken siew mai
I always have a soft spot for siew mai; maybe it’s because this is what Hongkies love to eat. Imagine my excitement when I saw these steamed siew mai in front of me! What a satisfied meal… To spice things up a bit, it comes with 3 sauces; sweet sauce, chili sauce, and wasabi sauce. Huh? Wasabi sauce with dim sum? Yep, you heard me right! And the best thing is, they went quite well together. or
A duo of baked bean and salted egg paus
Paus are very common for Chinese especially during breakfast or brunch. Give this pau a go especially when they include something out of the ordinary to make it not so common anymore – raspberry sauce that was made in-house to go with the pau! Try it!
Hot soba Noodle soup with prawn and assorted vegetable tempura
or
Grilled chicken slices served with arugula and roasted bread sticks
1 slice of cake of the day
