Many of us are familiar with capsule hotel, but luxury capsule-styled experience in the heart of Kuala Lumpur provided by The Bed KLCC is certainly a fresh concept. This newly available interactive co-living accommodation is built with an investment of up to RM20 million.
The Bed KLCC Review
Its location in the heart of KL Golden Triangle and in the centre of tourist attractions such as KLCC, KL Tower, and Bukit Bintang is definitely a great selling point. The luxury capsule hotel is well connected to an excellent transportation network such as free shuttle bus (GoKL), Light Rail Transit (LRT) and monorail, all available at a walking distance from the hotel. In the next 2 years, The Bed KLCC aims to launch two more interactive accommodations within the city centre. Tourists who are looking for a new travel accommodation designed to provide convenience, quality and genuine sense of community at an affordable price should definitely check them out. Co-founder and Executive Director of The Bed KLCC, Mr. Leslie Cheong mentioned, “We are millennials, thus when we travel we always look for something exciting, something new, something different. This is where the idea of innovative hotel came in mind, and we are also looking forward into introducing Malaysia’s first co-living concept in our hotel.” Capsule hotels are mostly meant for backpackers and young travelers who are looking for budget accommodation. Due to lack of facilities, privacy and services, they are deteriorating in demand. Travelers nowadays are willing to pay slightly more for a better lifestyle accommodation, with contemporary interior design, fast speed internet, and a space for making new friends to immerse themselves into the culture and environment of the city they’re travelling to. The Bed KLCC can cater to a capacity of up to 170 guests and offers 6 types of accommodation to choose from:
Single Pod Side Entry – Female (Price per night: RM 69)
Single Pod Side Entry – Mixed (Price per night: RM 69)
Single Pod Front Entry – Mixed (Price per night: RM 69)
Single Pod Suite (Price per night: RM 139)
Queen Pod Suite (Price per night: RM 170)
King Pod/Family Room with 2 Double Beds (Price per night: RM 180)
For Single Pod Suite, Queen Pod Suite and Family Room, you get to use a separate shared bathroom instead of the common bathroom. Price is inclusive of complimentary breakfast, daily housekeeping, and high speed internet access. The size of each single pod is 40sqft whilst the size of the suite is 150sqft. If you have stayed in a pod at capsule hotels before, I’m sure you’ll notice that the size is larger than any standard pod offered by traditional capsule hotels. I can still stretch my arms upward without touching the bed above! Color wise, it’s elegant with a touch of Scandinavian theme. The dark colors used exudes a spa-like ambiance that feels very cozy. Although you are sharing the room with other travelers, you will still have your privacy in the pod. All you need to do is pull down the privacy blinds for your own personal space. Their pods are fully equipped, even tech-savvy travelers will approve:
High speed wireless Internet connection
USB ports for charging
International charging points
LED lights
Multipurpose foldable table
Mirror
Privacy blind
Private locker (padlock is available upon request)
Towel
Shower cap
Toothbrush and toothpaste
If you prefer an even higher level of privacy, they have other choices to offer, ranging from private pods in sharing room to private suite pods. Facilities at The Bed KLCC are abundant to ensure the comfort and security of their guests. Among the facilities are:
